BabyBjorn Baby's First Cup

We have tested quite a few beakers and drinking cups recently.  Freddy is getting pretty good at independent eating and drinking and I've found the range of utensils available to ease this process to be really varied.  There really is an option for every baby out there.

When Baby Bjorn contacted me with a view to testing their Baby Cup I was intrigued to find out more. BabyBjorn  is celebrating 50 years of happy babies and happy parents!  Since 1961 they have been simplifying everyday life for families with innovative products.  Their Kitchen Range includes products to make mealtimes fun and to nurture independent feeding for toddlers with tiny hands and strong wills.  Their designs are well conceived with every detail taken into account!

Baby's First Cup is BPA Free, suitable from 8 months, easy to grip, with a stable non-slip base.  When it arrived it really was quite unique and different to all the other cups I'd come across on the market.  It was a small, goblet shaped, open topped cup with a wide green base.

The ergonimically designed cup makes a perfect transitional step to drinking from a glass like mum and dad!  It stands firm on its base and is difficult to topple.  It holds 100ml of drink and has graduated markings on the side of the cup.  The rim is nicely rounded with no hard edges and the cup is to easy grip. It is dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe.

I was a little nervous about giving an open topped cup to my unpredictable toddler.  But I needn't have worried.  He took to it straight away and it was easy for him to drink from.  His little hands gripped it perfectly well.  He was able to set it down on his table without any problems and it was very stable.

Freddy was clearly impressed with his drinking cup and didn't make a mess at all.  BabyBjorn really have got the design spot on.  He was very careful with his drink, and clearly felt independent and grown-up.

The cup is priced at £8.99 and is available in blue, pink and green for spring!  It is a really durable cup and I think it will last well.  He will be able to use it for a long time so it justifies the price tag.
