How To Make Lollipop Christmas Tree Decorations

Christmas, decorations

I love decorating my Christmas tree with the children.  It is one of those magical moments of the year that heralds the beginning of Christmas.  We like to hang sweet treats on our tree and one of the decorative goodies that adorns it is our Lollipop Tree Decoration.  They are really simple to do but very effective.  You can choose fabric to compliment your Christmas colour scheme.  I love to make them with my older kids and they can be remade year after year if you keep all the bits.

You will need:

8 x 10cm squares of lace or net material in your chosen colour scheme
8 x 8cm squares of pretty fabric in your chosen colour scheme
8 x 12cm lengths of thin ribbon in your chosen colour scheme
8 x Lollipops

  • Place the fabric square centrally onto the net or lace square.
  • Wrap the top of the lolly into the fabric layers.
  • Tie the ribbon around the neck of the lolly stick.
  • Attach a loop of thread to the stick or attach a small screw in hook to secure them to the tree.
  • Hang them on the tree!

Tots100 Experience Days Competition

  1. Clever and very attractive!. I love the colours you used to0

  2. What a lovely festive way to make the Christmas Tree look even more special than it actually looked in the first place (if that makes sense) The children have the added bonus that they can tuck into the lollipops once Christmas is over.

  3. But do you eat the lolly later?

  4. Most definitely! A sweetie alternative to the chocolate decorations :) Then you can use the material and ribbon again to make new ones all Christmas long to keep the tree stocked up. x
