Quinny Yezz Doing What It Does Best!

As a Quinny Caster I've been challenged to show the Yezz doing what it does best!!  It's the urban stroller designed to make the city its playground, perfect for public transport and the rigours of being in town with a toddler.  Unfortunately as far as this mission is concerned, I live in the country and the public transport links are worse than useless so to demonstrate the features and benefits of Quinny's funky Yezz we had to get creative.

The incredibly lightweight Yezz is small and compact when folded and comes with a strap to carry it over your shoulder.  Perfect for going up and down stairs and escalators and hopping on and off trains and buses.  Ian demonstrated this on our staircase!

The size of the folded stroller is perfect if you are sat on a seat of a train, bus or taxi.  It will sit easily between your feet meaning you don't have to struggle with stowing the Yezz in a storage facility.  Ian demonstrates on our makeshift bus seat!!

When you are in the city, you have to put your stroller up and down a lot as you reach escalators, stairs or get on or off the vehicle.  The Yezz can be put up with one hand and one foot really quickly and easily.  You could hold on to a toddler's hand or carry an infant with your other hand.  Very useful when travelling alone with your child.

City life can mean tight spaces and narrow gaps.  The Yezz's super manoeuvrability and compact design makes negotiating a busy, crowded area really easy.  Doorways, aisles, corridors and other tight squeezes are easily handled.  Check out Ian going through a doorway with bags of space to spare.

 The free standing feature is useful and would allow you to leave the pushchair stood up and keep your hands free.

The Yezz's lightweight frame makes this the lightest stroller to carry around, a real bonus when using a buggy in the busy city.  A cumbersome, heavy, complicated pushchair would be a hindrance,whereas the Yezz would be a real help in that situation.  You can see just how light this stroller is in this photo.

Although I did not test the Yezz in the city for this mission, I am soon to take Freddy to Alton Towers.  The Yezz will be perfect to ride the mono-rail, leave standing in Buggy Parks near the rides, negotiate the crowds and carry over our shoulder when Freddy decides he wants to have a run around.  We are also going to Disneyland Paris in a few weeks time and will be taking the Yezz.  It will take up hardly any boot space and again will be perfect in a theme park situation.  I'll definitely post some pics!!

The Yezz may not be perfect for all terrains and situations, but for urban life it can definitely reduce many of the problems associated with using a pushchair.  Plus, it's very comfy for your tot to travel in.  It's a great investment for a non-city dweller like me, as a second stroller for travelling, urban use and on holiday.

Graco Symbio & Fusio Reviewed

As a Graco Ambassador I have been incredibly fortunate to have both the Symbio and the Fusio in my pushchair collection.  I regularly use both of them and genuinely love them both.  Here's an overview of both pushchairs.

Symbio

Positives:

• Flip over handle to allow for interaction with baby at anytime.  I loved this feature!
• Really soft snuggly material for the seat and cosy toes.
• Excellent hand operated braking system.
• Smooth handling with pneumatic tyres, suspension and good size swivel wheels.  The Symbio could handle different terrains with ease.
• Good height for tall parents and lovely to push!
• Really stylish design and has an attachable matching baby bag.

Considerations:

• The storage basket is OK for everyday essentials but you can't fit bulging shopping bags underneath.  Nor can you hang them from the handles, so you need a helper willing to carry your bags for you on a mammoth shopping spree!
• The Symbio pushchair chassis folds down separately from the seat so although this is perfect for transporting it by car, you couldn't carry the folded down Symbio, the seat and your baby singlehandedly.  

Fusio

Positives

• The Fusio is a lightweight stroller with the benefits of a travel system and with the option of fitting the seat in either a forward or backward facing position.
• Big storage basket and separate handles perfect for lightweight bags, which allows for maximum shopping!
• Easy to manoeuvre indoors...perfect for shopping centres.
• Really simple to use raincover...genius!
• Folds down easily and can be carried one handed.
• Excellent for public transport.

Considerations 

• The small wheels make it less adaptable for off roading.  Bumping up kerbs is easy though, if you use your foot on the back to tip the Fusio up.
• It is quite a narrow seat...so may not suit a chunkier toddler until they are 3 years old.

I use both pushchairs regularly.  Both are well designed for functionality and style. The Fusio is great for shopping trips.  It fits well in the car allowing extra space for shopping bags.  It also has the capacity to carry quite a lot of shopping (but remember to take care not to tip the Fusio by overloading it!)  It is easy to use and Freddy is comfy and snug.  I took the Fusio to Central London for the Ideal Home Show and it was a real asset to have it on the trains and tubes and at the show itself.  

The Symbio is a delight to push when out and about.  I love to use it when I'm going for long walks, on the school run or on days out. It handles obstacles with ease and it feels safe and secure.  It is a dream to handle and is ultra comfy for Freddy.   

Graco really have scored top marks on both pushchairs.  Freddy is equally happy in both and sleeps beautifully in either.  I'm glad I don't have to choose between them...they are both brilliant and I consider myself incredibly lucky to be a two pushchair family!

Ode to my Graco Symbio!

One of the things that my children always do at school this time of year is an acrostic poem.  It's one of those poems where each line begins with the letters that make up a word, which is the subject of the poem.  So, after hearing yet another Christmas one, I decided I'd give it a go for the the Symbio.  This lovely pushchair has become a big part of our life...I take my reviewing very seriously!  Trying and testing the pushchair, and seeing how it fits in with my family life! So here is my ode in acrostic form!  I had some fun with it.


G is for glad I'm reviewing...so pleased.
R is for raincover that fits on with ease.
A is for Awards...a well deserved gold.
C is for cosy toes, so snuggly if cold.
O is for options, carrycot or carseat.
S is for safety, these brakes work a treat.
Y's for our youngsters who travel in style.
M's for manoeuvrable, mile after mile.
B is for bag that attaches with hooks.
I is for interaction...towards Mum baby looks.
O is for original and thoughtful design.

Freddy got stuck in when his Graco Symbio arrived this morning!  Daddy was away in Leeds so Freddy had to help me build his new wheels.  What a good little helper he was!

Graco Symbio Challenge No.1 Completed

Constructing My Graco Symbio!

Well, I am quite pleased with myself...even possibly a little smug!  I have before me a brand, spanking new Graco Symbio Pushchair...put together with my own fair hands! 

Now, I have to be honest, it really wasn't difficult.  Has my husband been exaggerating the difficulty factor of pushchair building for the last 22 years just to impress me???  Or have Graco designed their Symbio to be user friendly from the moment it arrives?

The construction was very intuitive with the parts simply clicking into place.  It went together easily and feels sturdy.  I sat Freddy in it and he was quite comfortable and safe...so I think I've built it correctly!

I had a little play with the reversible handle and it was such a simple process to switch from rearwards to forwards facing...there'll be more on that fabulous feature in later posts!

I really like the look of the Symbio.  It's not like any travel system I have had before.  It has big chunky, swivelling wheels and a really modern looking metal frame.  The seat is reminiscent of a car seat and is very soft and comfy.  The straps are secure and easy to do up and undo...not at all fiddly which is a plus with a wriggly toddler.  The raincover fits on with poppers and a zip...I love that idea.  Quick and easy!

Everything seems to have been thought out to make the Symbio user friendly.  My first impressions are very positive.  I look forward to looking at the features in more detail when I put it to the test.

I am now raring to go...just need to figure out how to fold it up to fit in the boot of the car and the world's our oyster!!
