OXO Tot's Water Bottle Review

I have been a fan of OXO Tot's products ever since discovering them when he was a baby.  We reviewed some products from the Feeding Range, the Snacking Range and the Bath Range and were impressed with their simple, yet thoughtful designs and toddler friendly features.  Now he is older, his needs have obviously changed, so I was pleased to see OXO Tot also have products suitable for kids who are a little bit more grown up.  Freddy has just been sent an OXO Tot's Water Bottle to try out. As Freddy is about to start school in September, one item on our list of things we need was a good drinking bottle so he can stay hydrated during the day.

The twist top water bottle has a number of clever design features to make life that little bit easier including a secure lid that avoids spills when not in use. A simple twist of the non-slip lid makes a soft straw pop up, while another twist closes the lid again keeping the straw clean and germ free.

Oxo Tots

The large opening makes the bottle easy to fill and also to wash-up, while the non-slip carrying loop makes it easy to carry. The shaped bottle provides good grip for small hands which can hold the bottle securely.

It is perfect for juice, milk or water and easy for a child to manage, ensuring no spills or mess.  Freddy really liked the novelty of the flip up straw and enjoyed drinking from it.  Anything that encourages him to get into the habit of drinking is great.  It has overtaken his sports bottle as his drinking vessel of choice!

I like that it is so easy to keep clean because of the wide neck, and that it won't cause spills in his school bag!  It is also an ideal cup for travelling or taking out and about, as you can do up the lid and throw it in a bag confident that it won't leak and knowing the straw will stay fresh and clean.

Oxo Tots

Available in three colours: aqua, green and raspberry, the twist top water bottle has a generous 350ml capacity. Made from crystal clear Tritan, OXO Tot’s twist top water bottle is also BPA, phthalate and PVC free, and dishwasher safe.  RRP £8.

Oxo Good Grips Grinders and Shakers

I've reviewed baby and toddler products from the Oxo Brand before (Oxo Tots for Bath Time, Snacking and Feeding) and have been impressed by their quality, innovation, stylish design and functionality.  So I was very excited to test out something from their kitchen range to see if I would be equally impressed.

I chose the Oxo Good Grips Salt and Pepper Grinders to try.  My husband is a big fan of ground pepper, but other mills we have had in the past have been messy, ineffective and inconsistent. I had high hopes that Oxo would give me a better experience!

With its brushed stainless steel accents and clear acrylic body, each Grinder looks very contemporary,  sleek and stylish. They are functional in the kitchen but still look elegant when brought to the table.  The soft, non-slip grip makes them very comfortable to use and secure to hold.  They feel good in your hand with their ergonomically designed shape.

Stylish
Practical
They are sold ready filled with peppercorns or rock salt which I thought was a nice touch, transforming them into a great gift idea.  The Grinders are adjustable by turning the top where there are settings from coarse to fine grind, depending on your requirements. A plentiful flow of finely ground or coarsely ground salt or pepper is produced according to the setting.  I prefer finer pepper, Ian likes his much coarser and so this suited us both equally!

The non-corrosive, ceramic grinder won't absorb flavours or odours, and is positioned on the top of the Grinder so it won't make a mess when put it down. No more salt and pepper spills on the table.  The Grinder sits flat on its base and you simply turn it to grind your salt and pepper onto food.  It is a simple idea, but makes much more sense!  It makes it really easy to refill too.  These are really faultlessly designed.  Easy to use, effective and they do exactly what you want them to do!

I think these would make a really nice gift...practical yet stylish.  They will season Christmas Dinner to perfection!!

They are available from Amazon, Lakeland and other good stockists RRP £20.43 each.

Oxo Tot For Bath Time

I have reviewed some of the amazing, innovative products from Oxo Tot previously.  Whether you are looking for products to make feeding your toddler easier or if you want some great snacking items  Oxo Tot have the solution.  So when I was offered some of the bathing range to test out I was looking forward to seeing how they would live up to my high expectations!

We were sent the Whale Pail and the Tub Kneeling Mat, both designed to make bath time easier for parents.

The Whale Pail makes cleaning up bath toys fun.  The unique whale shaped pail has a wide mouth perfect for scooping toys out of the bath water.  The soft non-slip handle means it won't slip out of wet hands and makes it easy for little ones to use too.  Scooped up toys can be rinsed with clean water.  Holes in the side of the pail allow water to drain out and aids ventilation to dry the toys.  The translucent front lets you view what toys are stored inside.

The Whale Pail can be stored on the wall using the holder which suctions onto the tiles.  Freddy thought the Whale Pail was a great toy in itself.  The holes make it great for pouring water through, causing much splishing, splashing and laughter.

Oxo Tots

After the bath, Ian used the Whale Pail to scoop up the numerous toys that we usually have to chase around the tub to fish out.

He then rinsed them easily under the tap and hung the pail on the holder to drain and dry.  It was simple and effective and provides a great storage facility for all the bath time odds and ends that Fred plays with.

The Tub Kneeling Mat is constructed of three layers of thick foam that provides support for your knees at bath time.  Particularly valuable when you reach my age!!!  Made from durable, water resistant nylon it  is easy to clean.  Magnets keep it in the folded position for easy storage.  A convenient hanging loop makes it easy to hang behind the door or on a hook in the bathroom.

Oxo tots

The mat is definitely comfy and supportive and infinitely preferable to kneeling on the cold, wet tiles or on a wad of damp towels whilst trying to bath your child.  I liked being able to hang it in the folded position on a hook where it dried nicely.  It definitely saved our knees and for that it gets a big thumbs up!

Oxo Tot...Perfect for Snacking

I recently reviewed an Oxo Tot Training Plate and Cutlery Set.  I was very impressed with the thoughtful designs and the way in which the products really helped Freddy eat independently.  So when Oxo Tot kindly sent me some other items in their feeding range, I was only too happy to try them out with Freddy.

We were sent the Tall Sippy Cup, Snack Disc and the Flip Top Snack Cup in Aqua. Again, I was impressed with the lovely simple designs and the thoughtful features of the products.

Oxo Tots

Freddy took to them straight away.  The Sippy Cup is a good size for a toddler, holding 11 oz of liquid.  The transparent walls lets you see exactly how much your baby is drinking, and the non-slip grips makes it perfect for little hands to hold.  The spill proof beaker has a leak proof valve and is easy to sip.  A dimple in the lid makes room for little noses when the beaker is tipped up.  Graduated markings on the side of the cup let you measure how much drink you are making your tot.  Useful when using concentrates.

The Flip Top Snack Cup is the perfect size for Freddy to hold. The attached lid flips up allowing baby to reach in to get to the snacks inside.  Freddy found it easy to open and close. It would be perfect for car journeys or can be easily popped into your handbag or pocket to take out and about.  Think of the money you could save by taking out a little pot of dried fruit, cereals or grapes, instead of having to buy toddler snacks from the shops!

The Snack Disk is a lidded dish.  The non slip base and wide bottom minimizes spills.  The opening in the top of the bowl is plenty big enough for easy access, and the snap on lid keeps snacks fresh inside and allows you to transport a pot of goodies when out and about.  It was a good size and I made Freddy a fruit salad which he thoroughly enjoyed scoffing on.  The Snack Disk was easy for him to hold and the curved shape was fun and unique.

We were hoping for the return of the sun to test the snack pots on a picnic...but as ever, the English weather has been unpredictable so we had an indoor picnic instead!

Freddy has enjoyed using the Oxo Tot Feeding range.  The products are lovely and do exactly what they they say on the packet!  They really have been made to make life easier for parents and babies.  I love the contemporary designs and the simplicity.  I think it is great that these items can save you money in the long run and let you pack healthy, home-made snacks for your toddler for taking out and about.

Oxo Tot products are available from Amazon and Kiddicare.

Oxo Tot Feeding Range

Oxo is an American brand that has been producing innovative household tools and gadgets for the home for over 20 years!  They design products as solutions to help ease everyday tasks. Well now Oxo have applied this principle to develop a fantastic range of bright and functional Baby and Toddler products.  Their Mealtime Feeding Range provides products designed with the future diners' needs in mind. From their practical Sprout Highchair to a range of spill-proof cups to weaning and self feeding their modern and unique take on feeding essentials is both aesthetically pleasing and perfectly practical.  Available in Aqua, Orange and Green, these original products have won numerous design awards.

I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to try out the Oxo Tot Training Plate and Cutlery with Freddy.  When it arrived I was instantly impressed by the really original look and feel of the products.  The minimalist packaging wasn't wasteful or excessive.  I liked the simplicity of the logo and pack design.

The Training Plate is a good size for a toddler and has an ingenious removable ring that gives the plate a lip to help your little one chase food around the plate...perfect for peas and other tricky food!! It minimizes mess at meal times.  It can be removed when the toddler gets more efficient, so it will grow with your child.  The plate is weighted for extra stability and features a non-slip base.  This versatile plate helps your tot become an independent feeder.
Oxo Tots

The Fork and Spoon Set is ideal for little hands with its chunky, easy grip handles and slightly angled heads.  They have no sharp edges and the prongs on the fork are rounded.  The deep spoon helps an easy scooping technique and the fork safely pierces food to maximize the transition to grown-up cutlery.  A flat spot on the back of the handles stop the cutlery from rolling away...simple but really clever and thoughtful.

Oxo tots

The products are BPA, phthalate and PVC free which is something I strongly support.  They are also dishwasher safe.

So, how did Freddy get on??  I think the following video can demonstrate just how great this range is!  He was able to use the raised edge to help get the food on his fork.  It showed that Oxo had really thought about what a toddler needs to gain independence and the action of chasing food against the edge of the plate was very instinctive to Freddy.  The cutlery was really easy for him to hold and manipulate.  I was really impressed!

Oxo Tot Feeding Range is available to purchase from Amazon and Kiddicare.  The Training Plate is £6.00 and the Fork and Spoon Set is £6.00.  A Feeding Set is also available which includes both items plus a lidded bowl for £15 from Kiddicare.  I love this range and would recommend them to any mum with a toddler who is learning to eat independently.  Freddy is doing really well with it.  The design features really have made a difference to how well he can feed himself.  Thank you Oxo Tot!!
