The Big Adventure with Mothercare and ELC

Mothercare has launched a new range for summer,  and it's all about adventure!  The Adventure range conjures up the world of camping holidays, the outdoors and nature watching.  For girls there are vintage florals and mix and match photographic prints.  For the boys there are muted and chalky colours, fluorescent highlights and graphics inspired by nature and adventure.

Tying in with this theme of adventure, ELC has a fabulous range of toys including the Discovery Channel 4 x 30 Binoculars (£6.99) and FM Walkie Talkies (£24.99), plus their own brand Explorers Kits (£15.00).

Freddy was delighted to receive a fabulous 'The Big Adventure' long sleeved graphic T-Shirt (currently half price at £3.50 - £4.00) featuring a cool photo of the great outdoors, along with some ELC goodies and nature books to help him enjoy his own big adventure!

We loved the T-Shirt which was well sized and well made from 100% breathable cotton, which is soft on children's skin.  The muted green raglan sleeves, the contrast stitching and the stylish graphic print make this the perfect top for big adventurers aged up to 8 years old.

The ELC Explorer Kit contains everything that a budding adventurer might need to discover the world around them.  A wrist compass, a magnifying glass, torch, magnified bug catcher with tweezers and binoculars plus some nature cards are packed inside a see-through rucksack.

My little adventurer was ready to explore!

For children, everyday is an adventure filled with discovery and wonder.  It was a rainy, wet day when we went for a walk around Bridgemere Gardens, but that didn't deter Freddy from going on his big adventure.  Using his binoculars, he looked around for birds, took a closer look at the leaves on trees and checked out the things up ahead.

He loved his wrist compass which he used to find North.  His daddy showed him how the arrow always pointed to the north, even if he moved around.  Freddy tried to find some bugs but the rain meant that apart from one brave Hover Fly, our adventure was relatively bug free.  So bug catching will be saved for another day.  Instead, Daddy hid some coins for Freddy to discover.  Using his exploration skills and the age old technique of 'getting hotter or colder', Freddy discovered the treasure among the plants and under the trees.  He loved his adventure and wondered if it was pirates, and not Daddy, that had left the coins for him to find.

The ELC toys help children learn and develop through play; stimulating their imagination and creativity.

After a busy afternoon exploring, it was time to explore the cafe where Freddy enjoyed some yummy grapes and a Millionaire's Shortbread, whilst still wearing his compass.  An explorer's job is never done!

After his big adventure and his snack, Freddy's T-Shirt was ready for the wash.  I am happy to report that it washed up beautifully at 40 degrees.

Christmas Eve Pyjamas - Our Festive Tradition

One tradition that we have at Christmas, is the giving of festive pyjamas to the children on Christmas Eve. Little ones will be happy to go to bed in their new pj's knowing that Santa will arrive once they are sound asleep and they will be waking up to a Christmas stocking at the end of their bed.  The kids always jump into our kingsize bed on Christmas morning, where they take turns to open their stocking presents, still wearing their brand new nightwear.  It's a tradition that we really enjoy and I love seeing my children on Christmas Eve all dressed up ready for bed in their Christmas pyjamas knowing there is just one sleep until Christmas Day!

This Christmas, Freddy has been sent a really cool pair of seasonal pyjamas from Mothercare.  I was really impressed with the design of the older boy's pj's this year.  Mothercare has gone away from the cutesy image of Christmas and gone for something most boys will really love - a big truck a.k.a. a snow plough,  shovelling away the winter snow.  This makes them perfect for the whole of the winter season and not just for Christmas Day.

Mothercare

As you would expect from the Mothercare brand, the snuggle fit pyjamas are beautifully made using quality cotton rich material, which is soft and breathable. The snow plough design is appliqued onto the top, and the theme is continued on the trousers as a repeated snow plough pattern.  The design is really eye-catching with the bright yellow of the snow plough contrasted against the blue background.  The sizing is good with plenty of room for comfort.

The Snow Plough pyjamas are available for children from 12 months to 6 years and they are priced at £10/11.  There are lots of other designs available featuring robins, penguins, reindeer and other festive favourites, in sizes suitable from birth.

Look out for a 'buy one get one half price offer' on selected sleepwear until December 10th, and join me in my festive Christmas Eve Pyjamas Tradition!

Keep an Eye Out for Mothercare's Calendar Competition

To celebrate '25 sleeps till Christmas' Mothercare has created an online advent calendar competition which will be featured on their Facebook page.  Fans get the chance to win up to £100 of Mothercare vouchers, which would be a lovely bonus at this time of year!  As part of the competition, Mothercare is looking for 24 children who are wishing away the sleeps until Christmas Day!  Entrants are asked to upload a photo of their little one sleeping onto their Facebook page by the 27th November.  24 will be selected to sit behind each door on the advent calendar which launches on November 30th and will win £30 of Mothercare vouchers with the chance of winning the top prize of £100 of vouchers.  So keep an eye out for this fun competition!

Mini Club Clothing

Freddy is a lucky boy!  He has been sent a gorgeous Springtime outfit from Mini Club.  Mini Club is a Mothercare clothing range stocked exclusively at over 300 Boots stores.  It offers contemporary, stylish and affordable clothes for kids aged 0-6 years.  Designed for children who love life, they are made for playing in, growing in and living in.

Fred was sent a pair of long denim shorts with a belt, a gorgeous T-shirt with a cool nautical design, a striped hoodie and a pair of green and white checked swimming shorts.  The colours are bold and bright, bang on trend for this season.  The designs are fun with strong graphics and the fabrics are top quality.

Today, as it is Mother's Day, my little man is dressed in his new outfit.  He looks adorable!  The 18-24 month size is plenty big enough for him at 20 months.  I love the quality of the garments and the attention to detail is great.  The shorts are 3/4 length on Fred.  They are made from a soft denim and have an adjustable waist band.  The pockets on the knee are really trendy and the canvas belt is a lovely addition.  The T-Shirt transfer is well applied and the seams are stitched well.  Its a great quality cotton that is tumble drier safe.  The hoodie is gorgeous with bold stripes of orange and stone with pale blue detailing.  It zips up and looks so comfy on Freddy.  The green and white long swim shorts have a drawstring waist band and will be perfect for when the summer sun returns!

The Mini Club prices are affordable (the T Shirt is £4, the Hoodie is £12, the Jeans £11 and the Swim Shorts £7).  They are great quality and really well designed, stylish, modern classics with a fun, contemporary twist.

Freddy loves his new outfit and it is comfy, casual and easy to wear.  Check out this video of him out and about in his cool, trendy new outfit!
