Star Wars CrocsLights and Crocband Jaunt Rain Boots from Crocs #review

When I was contacted by Crocs to try out some of their range, I was surprised to see that the brand offers so much more than just their famous range of classic clogs. In fact, they sell sneakers, boots, wellies, loafers, flats, flips and sandals too, in a host of colours and designs. There are classic Crocs for kids featuring favourite characters from Star Wars, Minions, Frozen and The Avengers. There are also some great wellies and boots that would see them through the colder weather. There is an extensive men's range too.

Freddy was sent a pair of Kids CrocsLights Star Wars Darth Vader Clogs. The black clogs feature a red strap with the Star Wars logo on the back. A permanent Darth Vader Jibbitiz charm decorates the front of the shoe. Other Star Wars themed Jibbitz are available to purchase to add further intergalactic decoration, attaching to the holes in the front of the shoe. Around the sole is a funky light up light sabre, which flashes red when the shoe is stamped on the ground. The effect delights kids of all ages who will feel that the force is with them!

Star Wars fans will adore these shoes. They are sturdy, lightweight, comfortable to wear and easy for kids to put on and take off independently. Freddy likes to wear his when he has his swimming lessons because they are so easy to manage: he can go sockless and they don't get soggy!

Freddy says "My Star Wars Crocs are amazing and I love them! The light saber is really cool on the side." So that's a definite thumbs up from him. He has been demonstrating the flashing lights to everyone he meets. I'm willing his feet not to grow for a while yet, because he will be gutted when they are too small.

The Star Wars light up Crocs are £39.99 and available in sizes up to size 3.

Crocs, Star Wars

I received a pair of women's Crocband Jaunt rain boots in navy, the perfect welly style boot for the wet weather we've been having recently! They are made from fully moulded Croslite material, which is waterproof, lightweight and durable. They have a stylish retro stripe running around the sole and at the top of the boot are two reinforced holes for pulling the boot on. The sole has good grip, perfect for being out in the rain. There are two holes at top of the boot for attaching Jibbitz charms to personalise them if wanted.

Wearing this boot feels very different to ordinary rubber wellies, They are so light and bouncy underfoot and the moulded Croslite is stiffer and feels more sturdy. The fit is roomy with good width and are spacious around my calf.

These boots are going to be great for the garden, winter walks or for splashing in puddles with the kids. They keep your feet dry and warm.  They can be easily rinsed off after being worn keeping them looking good for the season.

The Crocband Jaunt Boots are £39.99 and available in a range of colours. They are available in sizes 3 to 9.

The Dog's Doodahs Cards

There is still time to order a card for your dad from The Dog's Doodahs.  Orders made before 2pm are posted the same day by first class post.  There is a range of cards from the sentimental to the downright rude!  So whatever the age of the kids and the taste of their dad, there will be a card to suit.

We were given a code to make one and the kids chose this lovely photo card for their dad.  It is a lovely design and the photographs will make it very precious to him.  There are loads of other designs they could have chosen including one that suggests he was "mum's bitch"!

Dog's Doodahs

The Dog's Doodahs is an all-occasion online card and gift shop selling a host of traditional, cute and funny cards alongside some rather cheeky ones which feature jokes about alcohol, sex and getting old.  Many can be personalised with photos and text on the front and the inside, so you can tailor the card to the recipient, bringing a smile on their special day.  The site is fun and friendly and perfect for anyone looking for something a bit risque!

A standard size (A5-ish) card is £3.99 delivered from www.thedogsdoodahs.com

Give Dad A Hug and Say Thanks

A recent survey commissioned by Wilkinson's Sword says 49% of dads won't get a hug or kiss this Father's Day and 44% of people admit to not thanking their dads for everything they do for them.  Women are more open with their emotions than men, who on a whole, find it more difficult to express their love to their fathers.

That is so very sad.  We're a very touchy feely family who tell each other how much we love each other on a daily basis. Ian used to be a bit uptight about his emotions, as he doesn't have very demonstrative parents, but after 20 odd years with me, he is now as gushy as it gets!

Wilkinson Sword are asking for us to express our love through making a #Dadication on Facebook or Twitter, telling our dads what we are grateful for.  I really like this campaign, giving good dads the recognition they deserve.

So don't forget to dish out the hugs, kisses and thank yous this year...they don't cost a penny and will mean more than any gifts!!

Lego Lights Darth Vadar LED Torch Review

The battle against the dark side of the Force has raged throughout the Star Wars saga, but with this LED Torch you will be able to light your way through the darkness with ease.  The Force is definitely strong with this great gadget from Lego Lights.

lego, star wars

This Lego Darth Vadar torch stands approximately 20cm tall and has a white LED light on each foot and has a removable light up red light sabre.  The posable arms and legs can be angled so the lights can be directed in any direction.  A button on Darth Vadar's chest turns on the lights in his feet and the light sabre has its own switch in the handle.  The attention to detail is excellent.

star wars, lego

We were sent one to test out and Freddy absolutely loves it.  The removable light sabre is a great feature (he calls it his "power wand") and the posable legs make it easy to shine the lights wherever he wants them.  Looking under the sofa is a favourite game (goodness knows what he finds under there that is so interesting...but he loves it!)  The lights on his feet are quite bright with a good reach for exploring those mysterious dark areas.

star wars, lego

This Lego Lights Darth Vadar Torch is a perfect present idea for any Star Wars fans, gadget geeks or kids aged 5+.   I love the design of this torch and I think the Lego Star Wars merchandise is absolute genius.  The torch is a good size and the lights are very effective.  It sits or stands and the red glowing light sabre could be used as a comfort light at night time for a child while they go to sleep (although it would need to be switched off manually.)  It will look great stood on a shelf in a bedroom.  It is good to have something that is fun, good-looking and practical all in one!

darth vadar, star wars, lego

The torch is £19.99 RRP and available to purchase from Amazon and other stockists.  It requires 3 x AA batteries.

Our Opinion: An excellent torch for Star Wars fans of any age!  My husband loves it as much as my 3 year old. A brilliant gadget that is practical as well as really fun!

May the force be with you!!

Fabulous, The Fabric Flavours Yoda T-Shirts Are! Hmmm!

I have reviewed a T-Shirt for Fabric Flavours before and raved about the funky design, great quality and attention to detail.  The same T-Shirt that I reviewed back in April has withstood months of wear, washing and toddler abuse and is now due to be handed down...pre-loved but in really, good condition.  That is what I call value!

To compensate for the loss of Fred's fave top, we received a brand new Fabric Flavours T-Shirt from their new Autumn Winter line.  And yes....it features Yoda! *excited gasps*

I defy anyone to not get excited by the prospect of dressing their kids in trendy tops depicting  characters from the most influential movie franchise of our generation!  The Star Wars range features all our favourites...Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C3-PO, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Yoda and Darth Vader plus  AT-AT Walkers, Stormtroopers and X-Wings.  They pay homage to the original trilogy before the Star Wars waters were sullied by Jar Jar Binks et al...so have a real retro feel to them.

Yet again I was impressed by the attention to detail and quality of the garment.

Quality Workmanship
Attention to Detail
Trendy Designs
Fabric Flavours Touches

The size 3-4 T-Shirt was a good, comfortable fit for Freddy who is now 27 months old.  At first he was a bit scared of the "monster" on the front...but we explained he was not on the dark side, he uses the Force against the evil Galactic Empire!!  So all was well and Freddy was quite happy indulging Mummy and Daddy's Star Wars geekiness!

Relaxing...watching a little sci-fi!
May the Force be with You!
Looking cool!

You really do need to check out the Star Wars range at Fabric Flavours, where you can purchase online or find details of stockists.  Freddy's Yoda T-Shirt is just £16..."Excellent bargain that is!! Hmmm?" as the Jedi Master would say!

If Star Wars isn't your thing (how could you not love it though?)  there are also new designs featuring Scooby Doo, Smurfs, Dr Suess, Thor and Ghostbusters among others.  See them all at www.fabricflavours.com.
