How To Make A Easter Bunny Mask

Easter bunny, craft

With the weather being more akin to winter than spring, we have kept ourselves cosy by staying indoors!  Thankfully, we have had lots to keep us entertained and busy including doing some Easter arts and crafts projects. 3M Scotch set us a challenge to create some Everyday Magic at Easter with the kids by working on an Easter craft challenge using the Scotch Brand products. We were sent a bundle of Scotch goodies including their Magic Tape to use, which was perfectly timed to tie in with our own Easter craft activities.

Easter

For the challenge we decided to make an Easter Bunny Mask and Kizzy took charge!

What You Need

A4 foam sheet
Scotch scissors
Scotch Magic Tape
Scotch Double Sided Tape
Scotch Expressions Tape
Felt
Cotton wool
Cardboard
Feathers
Pipe Cleaners
Elastic
Hole Punch

What You Need to Do

Simply draw a mask shape onto card and use it as a template to draw the shape onto a piece of craft foam.
Cut out carefully (including eye holes - that are the right size and position for your child to see through!)
Using Scotch double sided tape, stick cotton wool onto his ears to make them fluffy.
Cut out cheeks from felt and teeth from white card and stick onto the mask with the tape.
Twist 3 pipe cleaners in the middle to make whiskers and stick with Scotch double sided tape.
Use Scotch Magic tape to secure the whiskers and then stick a felt nose on the top using a loop of tape.
Cut thin strips of Scotch Illusions tape and stick down as eyelashes.
Add a few finishing touches using feathers, felt shapes, glitter etc. to personalise your Bunny!
Carefully punch a hole on either side of your finished mask, thread elastic through and secure ends.

Here is Kizzy's video tutorial on How To Make an Easter Bunny Mask!

It was a fun activity allowing Kizzy to use her creativity to create a rather spangly and funky Easter Bunny.  I think she did brilliantly well!   Why don't you challenge your little ones to make some Easter crafts this year? From bonnets, to painted eggs, to decorated sweet jars to pompom chicks, Easter is a great inspiration for craft activities.  We are having a lot of fun getting arty this year (especially as we can't go outside!)

We were sponsored by Scotch 3M to take part in this challenge and were given a selection of tapes to use in our Easter arts and crafts activities.

Adult supervision was required to mix the Plaster and it was a bit fiddly to insert the pins in the back of the badges, but the children really had fun with this kit!  9 year old Kizzy was able to create some really cute, colourful badges.

Easter Crafts with Dylon

Dylon is probably best known for its colourful fabric dyes which can transform old and tired clothing and fabric into vibrant, brightly coloured garments and materials, giving them a  whole new lease of life!  However, they also make some brilliant craft products, perfect for adding personal touches to favourite clothes or for using in craft projects.  You can make unique and colourful creations with ease.

We were sent a selection of goodies from Dylon's range to use for some Easter crafts.

The Fabric Paint can be painted or stencilled onto fabrics and stays soft even when fully dried.  The 3D Paints come in squeezy bottles and are available in glossy, pearl, glitter and puff varieties giving a host of fab effects.  The Fabric Pens are just like felt tips, available in bright or fluorescent shades.  They can be set into the fabric by ironing them.

We decided to make some Easter themed handkerchiefs for the children's grandparents.  Big, plain white hankies are very cheap to buy and provide a really good canvas for children to experiment with fabric paints and pens.  The resulting masterpiece makes a unique keepsake of the children's artwork.  They can even be framed to brighten up a wallspace.

My children first tried out the fabric pens to design patterns and pictures.  Ella went for an abstract design made up of fluorescent squiggles, dots and lines.  They applied quite easily to the material and didn't bleed out making them really good for intricate work.

Kizzy went for a traditional  Easter picture with chicks, eggs, flowers and a lamb.  She found the pens very easy to work with.  They were best used for outlines and patterns rather than for filling out large areas, according to the girls.  They aren't messy to use, just be sure to put something underneath the fabric to avoid the colours going through when using them.

The 3D paints are squeezed directly from the tubes onto the fabric which takes a little bit of practice to avoid blobbing and smearing!  We made a fabric Easter card using the material which we then mounted onto stiff card.  The paint dries in 4 hours whereby it becomes even more vibrantly coloured.

The shiny paints dry giving a 3D effect.

The 3D paints were also great for decorating eggs.  We practised making a Faberge Style egg and the paint went on well giving a nice 3D jewelled effect.

If you fancy getting crafty with the kids this Easter, check out Dylons Craft Range.  Projects are only limited by your imagination, so you can be as artistic as you wish making Easter bonnets, decorated eggs, cards and baskets using the paints and pens to great effect.  Even complete novices (like us) can have fun!

They make a really fun activity for a rainy day and allow the kids to make some unique keepsakes of their artwork.  Grandparents will love them!

Or how about this cute foil wrapped chocolate Easter bunny?  Kids will love to find him on Easter Sunday.

Your little ones can dress up as an Easter Bunny themselves with these fluffy and fun bunny ears.  They are available in pink or yellow.  They are so cute.

Easter is not complete without Easter chicks!  This collection of fluffy, yellow chicks make perfect decorations, cake toppers or can be used in an egg hunt.  Going 'cheep' at just £1 for a dozen.

With so many lovely things you'll be able to throw a fabulous Easter party or simply give the kids an Easter filled with fun activities, without spending a fortune.  My children love spending the long Easter weekend doing arts and crafts, taking part in Easter Egg hunts and munching on chocolate treats.  With our Poundworld goodies they will have an amazing time.
