Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment - Our Review

Last weekend we headed off to Birmingham to review the wonderful Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment  at the Barclaycard Arena.

The show features four stories: Toy Story 3, The Little Mermaid, Cars and Frozen, introduced by Disney favourites Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. With exquisite costumes, stunning scenery, amazing choreography, special effects, pyrotechnics and original Disney music, the magic of Disney is brought to life on the ice. The story takes us from Andy's Toy Box to Under the Sea to Radiator Springs to Arendelle. What a journey!

Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment

The Toy Story routine was beautifully done, telling the tale of when Andy goes to college, leaving his beloved toys behind. Their adventure at Sunnyside and their elaborate escape is brilliantly executed and includes Woody taking to the skies on a kite and Lotso being picked up by a garbage truck driver's giant hand. Highlights included the toy soldiers with their synchronised routines and the hilarious love story of Barbie and Ken. It is touching, heartwarming and exciting with lots of laughs thrown into the mix.

The Little Mermaid is one of my favourite Disney films. I love the story of Ariel and her fishy friend Flounder, and Ursula the Sea Witch is a magnificent villain. I loved seeing the underwater kingdom brought to life on the ice with flowing fabric waves and intricately detailed dancing fish. The ice dancer portraying Ariel was perfect for the role, telling the story of how she fell in love with Eric, made a pact with the evil Ursula and eventually broke her spell with a kiss from her prince.

After the interval, we were treated to one of my favourite parts of the show. The Cars from Radiator Springs came to the rescue of Minnie and Mickey's new roadster that had broken down. The full size vehicles are so beautifully made and look great as they drive and spin across the ice. Mater the Tow Truck and Lightning McQueen are brilliant with their fully articulated eyes and talking mouths. We were all enthralled with the four wheeled characters and loved seeing Mickey and Minnie drive away in the pimped up roadster.

Frozen is still the part of the show that everyone is excitedly waiting for and when Anna and Elsa step on to the ice, they deliver with a musical extravaganza. When Elsa brings winter to Arendelle, special effects see snow fall from the sky and fountains freeze before your eyes. Elsa's castle that appears during 'Let It Go' number is spectacular and the arrival of Olaf the snowman received the loudest cheer from the crowd. The ice dancing was exquisite and of the highest standard, and the tale is told with real heart.

Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment

This is the perfect show for families to watch together. Seeing a Disney on Ice show guarantees you are in for a treat. With amazing performers, music, costumes and effects, the show is simply stunning. My family love it! It is a perfect show for younger children, introducing them to ice dancing and live performance, with characters and songs they know and love.

Our Disney Holiday Photo Album

We have just come back from 5 amazing days at Disneyland Paris...we enjoyed glorious weather (30 degrees plus), fantastic food (thanks to our free and very generous half board dining plan), great accommodation in our cabin in the Davy Crockett Ranch (with quality air con), some really cool rides (Tower of Terror is my personal favourite) plus plentiful amounts of incredible Disney magic!!  Here is a selection of the 1000+ photographs we took featuring my very own Disney Kids: Megan, Ella, Kizzy and Freddy enjoying being together, having fun and making magic moments at Disneyland Paris :)

Toy Story 4Kids Fruit Pots

Crosse and Blackwell's Toy Story 4Kids Fruit Pots are the perfect addition to lunchboxes.  Individual pots contain real fruit juice jelly containing pieces of fruit and provide one of your five a day.  They are free from artificial colours and preservatives, and are also suitable for vegetarians. Each pot features a Toy Story character: Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Bullseye or the Alien.  They even come with their own little foldable spoon making a convenient anytime, anywhere snack.

jelly

Freddy and Kizzy both enjoyed the fruity pots of jelly (and I may have enjoyed a Mandarin Jelly myself!)  The only hurdle we came across were that they are a bit tough to get into, so a child may struggle without some grown-up help, if having one in their school lunchbox.  The foldable spoon is a very clever addition that the kids thought was great.

Each pot is packed with fruit pieces so fruit lovers will enjoy them very much.  The flavour is quite natural and not too sweet or at all synthetic tasting, which we liked.  They are priced at 65p each.

Fruit pots

They come in six fruity flavours:

Apple Pieces in Raspberry Jelly
Mandarin Segments in Mandarin Jelly
Mixed Fruit in Strawberry Jelly
Peach Pieces in Peach Jelly
Peach Pieces in Strawberry Jelly
Pineapple Pieces in Pineapple Jelly

Toy Story Remote Control RC Review

The Disney Store is magical all year round, but at Christmas something really special happens in my family's favourite shop.  The place is brimming with hundreds of fantastic gift ideas with toys, clothes and other items featuring all our favourite Disney characters.  You just can't go wrong when buying gifts for Disney fans at the Disney Store

We have been sent a fantastic Christmas present for Freddy from the Disney Store, a Remote Control RC with Buzz and Woody.  It is completely brilliant!

Disney

We all remember the scene in Toy Story when Woody and Buzz try to get back to Andy whilst whizzing down the road on the back of RC aided by the lighting of the 'Big One' rocket that Sid had strapped to Buzz's back.  Well, with this great toy, children can re-enact that very scene, or create their own hair raising scenarios starring Buzz, Woody and RC.

Disney, toy story

The set includes a brilliantly detailed RC, a Buzz figure, a Woody figure, Woody's hat, road cones, The Big One rocket and a steering wheel motion hand controller.

The figures are articulated for positioning.  The rocket fits on Buzz's back and when his wings are out he will be ready for some high octane role play!

Buzzz, Woody

The controller is easy to use with buttons for forwards and backwards movement and a steering wheel action to turn RC left and right.  This makes it much easier for younger children to control.  The car and controller take a total of six AA batteries so be sure to have them available for Christmas day!

Toy Story, Disney

This toy is suitable for ages 3 and up and will definitely be a huge hit with fans of Toy Story.  Like the other Toy Story merchandise available at Disney Store, everything is beautifully designed and true to the Pixar characters from the films.

We absolutely love this toy.  Toy Story is one of our favourite family films and there is something so wonderful about bringing the characters to life through play, in your own home.  The controls are responsive but easy to manage, even for little hands, which for me puts this above other RC vehicles when buying for a young child.

Toy Story, Disney
