Become a Singing Superstar with The Rocket Singing Machine

I have a family that absolutely loves music. The kids sing, dance, play instruments and perform at any given opportunity. So when we were offered the chance to try out the new Rocket Wireless Singing Machine from Character Options, we were delighted to put it through its paces.

This high tech mic is an all in one music experience set to revolutionise how we interact with our favourite songs. Perfect for parties, anyone can feel like a singing superstar as they sing along to top tracks and latest hits. The device can link wirelessly via Bluetooth to any Windows, iOS and Android Smart device, and is able to play music from any online streaming service, your music library, YouTube or karaoke apps. The light up base and hi-tech design make this a very exciting product for families to enjoy together, from little ones aged six and above (with supervision) to music loving teenagers to the young at heart!

Rocket Mic

The Rocket Singing Machine has a speaker on one end and an amplifying microphone at the other. It comes with adjustable voice enhancing echo, mic noise cancellation and volume control and includes a headphone jack. It can be used as a stand alone wireless speaker or as a novel karaoke machine. You can even connect it to Siri and ask questions or request songs from up to 10 metres away!

Could You Be A Rocket Star?

The Rocket Singing Machine has an exciting competition to find a star to become the face of the Rocket Mic. Simply send in your child's best singing video to the Rocket Star page by 11.59 pm September 24th 2017 for the chance to win cool prizes including a Rocket Singing Machine of your own. Click through the image for more details.

We have had such fun with the Rocket Singing Machine. To get started you need 3 AAA batteries (which are not included) and it is then super easy to pair to your smart phone or device. We used Freddy's Spotify playlist and he was quickly able to sing along to his favourite songs with the vocal effects adding an echo to his voice.

Rocket Mic

The ergonomic design is nice to hold and the sound quality is good. It definitely creates a party atmosphere and is very easy to use. Everybody enjoyed their moment in the spotlight singing along to their favourite songs. The fact it can also be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker, for karaoke or as a standalone microphone gives it multiple uses. The space age design with the light up base is cool and quirky

Rocket Singing Machine

The Rocket Singing Machine is available in pink or white and retails at £29.99 and is available online here.

Sing Your Heart Out with the Lucky Voice Karaoke App

Who doesn't enjoy a good sing-song? We all love singing along to our favourite tunes and with the Lucky Voice Karaoke app, you can do just that! With thousands of songs to choose from, you can perform hits from musicals, Disney tunes, songs from the eighties, duets, current hits or karaoke classics using your iPad or phone. Perfect for entertaining the kids or for a karaoke party in your own home.

Lucky Voice are offering a 14 day free trial of their karaoke app so you can try it at home for an instant sing-a-long. (After that there is a £4.99 monthly subscription charge giving access to 8000+ songs, which you can cancel at any time.)

Lucky Voice Karaoke App

We are trialing the app along with the Lucky Voice Karaoke kit, which, with the addition of speakers and an internet connection, transforms your home computer or iPad into an ultimate karaoke machine for added fun. The kit also includes a code giving you a month's access to all the songs on the app. The microphones come in a variety of colours.

Lucky Voice

The range of songs available is very impressive. They have everything from Disney favourites to songs from Bollywood to David Bowie's greatest hits. So whether you are a crooner, a wannabe rockstar or a musical theatre lover, there is something that will unleash your inner performer. We had an absolute blast rocking out to classic Meatloaf hits followed by the songs from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The content is really extensive and there is something for everyone, whatever your taste.

You can create your own playlists from your favourite songs or choose from the featured playlists on the app. You can also queue up what songs you want to play for non-stop karaoke fun or search by artist or song if you are looking for something in particular.

Lucky Voice

The app itself works really well directly from the iPad where you can read the words from the screen and sing along to the songs. However, the kit really enhances the experience and you can add echo effects to your voice and balance the backing track and voice volumes. There are two input sockets for microphones so you can add an extra mic for duets. The kit has a £50 RRP.

Singing is something that is very stress relieving and it can boost your confidence and let you put your inhibitions aside. Singing together as a family is such a fun activity and kids love to entertain themselves with a bit of karaoke. It's great for rainy days, parties or practicing your vocal skills.

The Karaoke Song Meme

I've been tagged by Working London Mummy in this meme which asks us which song we would sing if we did a turn on the Karaoke.  Now I am no stranger to the joys of the mic!  That is not to say I'm any good at it, but I am partial to singing my heart out to a backing track.

I hoped to do a recording of myself singing to my very favourite karaoke tune "Total Eclipse of the Heart" but I've caught my toddler's cough and cold and am a bit croaky.  I would sound even worse than usual and so I won't inflict that on the blogosphere (yet!!)

So here is another of my karaoke favourites recorded on my hubby's Blackberry at a family party in February this year. It's me doing Fame, backed up by Freddy on the 2nd mic held by my lovely future daughter-in-law Jade.

Now I have to tag five more fellow bloggers to find out what they would be singing when their turn on the karaoke came round!!

I am tagging
The Crazy Kitchen
Mummy, Daddy and Me Makes Three
Would Like to be a Yummy Mummy
The Boy and Me
Mummy Mummy Mum

I look forward to some karaoke greats from my taggees!!!

Listography...Perfect Day

Photobucket

This week's Listography theme has been born from the desperation that we can all relate to, when illness renders the whole household into agoraphobic zombies caught in a time loop repeating a miserable cycle of aches, pains, puke and seething resentment.  Inflicted with this scenario, Kate daydreamed what would constitute the perfect day, ergo we have this week's theme!

1: Perfect days always begin in a relaxed way.  No alarm clock.  No high pressured school runs with me nagging the girls to hurry up whilst trying to convince a toddler to eat his toast. No negotiation of the morning traffic.  I want to gently rise from my peaceful slumber looking serene to be met by a tender Sleeping Beauty style kiss from my Prince Charming husband.
2:  The weather must be perfect.  I want sunlight streaming into my window and a gentle warmth in the air.  Waking up to a dull, grey world always puts a damper on things.  A blue sky can really change your perspective of things...roll on Springtime!

3: I am actually quite easily pleased...a cheap date if you like!  Nothing pleases me more than a nice brunch in a coffee shop.  I love their comfy sofas, their smell, their pretentious luxury!   My head says, "You could a buy a whole jar of coffee for the price of one Grande Latte!"  But the heart says, "Hazelnut Macchiato...ooh look at me, I'm so cosmopolitan!!"  It makes me feel like I've made it!  I'm a grown up in a coffee shop!
4: I love going for family days out.  Nothing pleases me more than seeing my little ones taking delight in whatever we are doing.  From feeding the ducks and geese at the local lake to hitting the rollercoasters at Alton Towers...we know how to have fun!  I love giving Freddy new experiences.  Last week we took him to the Sealife Centre and he loved running around and looking at the fish with his sisters.  Me and Ian walk hand in hand watching his antics with smug pride!!  For my perfect day, my two eldest would be home to come with us...and all seven of us (plus their other halves) would have fun together.  Last time we were all out together we went on a woodland walk which was wonderful!

5: Karaoke!  After discovering my old karaoke videos from my sister's wedding, I have felt the old urge to air off our karaoke machine and exercise the lungs with Ian and the kids.  We actually did it last night and we had such fun!  We karaoked our way through the Rocky Horror Picture Show before hitting the duets.  We laughed so hard....mainly due to the lack of singing skills of me and Ian as we tried in vain to hit the high notes in Endless Love followed by an attempt to re-enact the iconic lift scene from Dirty Dancing!  One absolute joy was discovering that Freddy has a penchant for performing!  So to end the perfect day we'd crack out the karaoke and sing our hearts out!

My Sister's Wedding

Today is my big sister's first wedding anniversary.  I am so pleased that she is in a marriage where she can be really happy at last. She deserves to have the loveliest life.  Today is a day for reminiscing about her beautiful wedding.  It was a brilliant day with good food, great company, an amazing wedding cake, a beautiful venue and a lot of love.  This post though (my gift to QWERTY Mum) is a reminder of the not-so-great Karaoke performances that we suffered on that night!  We had such fun and a lot of laughs.  We'll be re-enacting some of these moments at the Anniversary Party to be held next week.  Watch out world...I'll be reprising my Fame performance!  Enjoy!
