Go Organic With Babe-Equip

Organic Toiletries for Babies and Toddlers

I am reviewing for the lovely online retailer Babe-Equip, the one stop shop for baby and toddler products.

Babe-Equip stocks a big range of products including a selection of Organic items, perfect for your little ones.  This includes the wonderful Organic Children and Organic Babies range of personal care products.

organic toiletries, toddlers, organic children

This range was developed by a mum determined to take steps to relieve her daughter's skin problems.  Filled with effective natural ingredients and no chemical nasties, the award winning range is ideal for your little ones!

I was sent a No Scent Body Wash and Shampoo (RRP £6.89), Sun Lotion (RRP £14.99) and Toothpaste (RRP £3.39) to try out with Freddy!

Wow Mum...it says it's Organic!!

Organic Body Wash and Shampoo

The Body Wash and Shampoo is lovely and mild and foams up well meaning a little goes a long way.  Chamomile and Aloe Vera makes it perfect for sensitive skin, or for children prone to eczema or psoriasis.   It is reassuring to use something so natural and pure on my baby's skin.  It protects against dryness and irritation and Freddy's skin felt lovely and smooth after washing.  Being a two in one product makes it very convenient at bath time.

Organic Toothpaste

The toothpaste comes in a Spearmint or a  Mandarin variety.  The fun flavours encourage children to brush their teeth, so whether your toddler is a fan of fruity or minty tastes there is one to suit.  The toothpaste is 100% safe and natural and free from SLS and fluoride.  It contains a protective anti-oxidants and removes plaque and helps reduce bacterial growth.  There is no danger of aluminium contamination from the tube.  There is no need to rinse so it makes teeth cleaning easy.  It really is the purest way to keep your little ones' teeth clean and healthy.

Daddy puts on the toothpaste.
Freddy likes the natural minty taste!

Organic Sun Lotion

The Sun Cream has an SPF of 25.  It has been voted as the best by Natural Health and Beauty Magazine!  It is so important to protect our children's skin from the harmful rays of the sun, and this product does so in the most natural way.  With 81.11% organic ingredients, it contains no Parabens, Lanolin, phthalates, artificial fragrances, petrochemicals or colourants.  It offers pure, non-greasy, water-resistant protection aginst UVA and UVB rays.  Rich anti-oxidants protect against cell damage and it is suitable for the most sensitive skin.  My 8 year old has eczema and so it is particularly suited for her skin.  It is recommended that you use a cupped palmful of the cream for coverage 30 minutes before exposure and re-apply every couple of hours.  It is suitable from birth.

The sun lotion goes on well and is quite thick.  You can see where you have applied it to ensure that you get good coverage.  We used it and it kept the children's skin perfectly protected...no burning or redness after being in the sun.  There was no reaction to using it, even on Kizzy's sensitive skin.

Dinner Time with Avent

We were sent an Avent Toddler Plate and Cutlery Set to try out.  We have tested some lovely baby feeding bowls over the last few months, but as Freddy is getting older and hungrier, they are getting a bit too small!

The Avent Plate (for ages 12 months+) is a good size, perfect for a toddler's growing appetite.  It has dividers to keep food separate on the plate and make scooping up things like baked beans much easier.  It has an anti-slip base which is very effective and prevents toppling and spills.  It is easy clean being dishwasher safe and can even go in the microwave.  The plate is BPA free, which is something we all want in our baby products!  The knife, fork and spoon set (for ages 18 months +) are weighted for easily handling and they are curved for little hands to hold easily.  They have a long reach and are also anti-slip so they stay put on the highchair tray or table. The deep fork has rounded prongs and the knife is not sharp, so they are a perfect introduction to using cutlery safely and independently.

The set was developed in conjunction with psychologist Dr Gillian Harris.  The educational design encourages eating through fun learning, so even fussy eaters will be eager to have their meals.  Cute characters and objects can encourage storytelling.  Toddlers can count the apples on the trees, name animals, brush up on number skills and practice their speech as they chat about the picture.

The plate held a good sized toddler meal of Quorn nuggets, veggies and baked potato!

I left Fred to his own devices and he tucked in effortlessly using his little fork to scoop up the food easily from within the divided sections.  The angle of the cutlery made it easy to transfer from plate to mouth without dropping it.

Here's a picture of Freddy in action!!

EverEarth Shape Sorter Box

Wooden Toys for Toddlers

EverEarth's Shape Sorter is another lovely, traditional wooden toy from Babe-Equip.  Made of natural wood from renewable forests and painted with water based paints, it is safe for both the planet and your toddler.  It comes attractively presented in recycled packaging.

toddler, toy, wooden toy, educational toy, eco-friendly

It is for children aged 18 months + and encourages shape and colour recognition and problem solving.

The 13cm x 13cm x 13cm wooden cube has a lift off lid and contains ten colourful wooden blocks in different shapes.
.

The Shape Sorter Box is beautifully made with no rough edges and the box lids fits on really well into the cut out edges at the top of the cube.

Freddy was very attracted to the Shape Sorter. He enjoyed trying to put the lid on the box and playing with the blocks.

Freddy is a very physical little boy who can climb, jump, kick, run and throw as well as any baby I've ever seen.  However, he is not the most patient little lad and his spatial awareness is a little lacking (he takes after me in that respect!)  So puzzles frustrate him!  But I was pleased that the nice chunky shape sorter held his concentration.  He was able to manipulate the blocks in his hand and try to fit them in the holes in the box.  He wasn't always successful but he had fun trying!

I was very impressed by the EverEarth Shape Sorter Box jut like I was with the Pull Back Car.  The EverEarth range is absolutely lovely and includes other items such as an activity cube, a farm set, a truck, a kitchen, a work bench, a pull along T-Rex and a gorgeous Noah's Ark playset.  Babe-Equip stocks most of the range and is bringing it to their customers for the best price possible.

The EverEarth Shape Sorter can be purchased from Babe-Equip for £14.99 which is a great price for a solid wooden, educational, eco-friendly toy.

EverEarth Pull Back Car...Eco-Friendly Fun

Eco-Friendly Wooden Toddler Toys

As part of my series of reviews for Babe-Equip, I was sent this lovely little wooden car by EverEarth from their "Future Eco-City" range.  EverEarth  toys are created with the safety of both our children and our planet in mind.  Kid-safe, eco-friendly and made from wood from renewable forests, they are perfect for parents looking for ethically sourced toys for their toddlers. The Ever Earth Pull Back Car is packaged using recycled cardboard, printed with soy ink.

The car itself is beautifully yet simply constructed.  It has a pull back mechanism which is surprisingly effective.  The slightest pull backwards results in the wheels spinning in a forward motion propelling the little car across the room. It is probably the best pull back vehicle I've ever tried!

Freddy was able to get the hang of the technique and we enjoyed sending it across the room to each other.  It was a lot of fun, making Freddy giggle!

He was very interested in how it all worked.  The car encourages skills such as shape recognition and problem solving, and develops motor skills and co-ordination.

Freddy is really taken with this car and it has become one of his favourite toys to play with.  It is recommended for ages 2 and up, which I think is about right.  Fred is 22 months old and able to use it independently.

Available from Babe-Equip it would make an excellent gift for a toddler.  You can buy it in total confidence knowing it is completely kid safe.

I love this toy, it is simple, traditional and a lot of fun.  Babe-Equip sell a range of the beautiful, eco-friendly EverEarth toys so if you are looking for something eco-friendly for your child,  make them your first port of call!

I'll be reviewing another lovely toy from the range soon.

Babe-Equip is an online company that aims to make it easier for parents shopping online to find the products that are right for them.  Offering the best items in terms of quality, value for money and ease of use, they sell the things they would want to use with their own children.  Babe-Equip also aims to bring new innovation and eco-friendly products to their customers, giving parents the best choice available.  They do the market research finding the greenest, and most up to date products on the market, and stock the ones that are most appropriate to their customers.

Babe-Equip do not try to compete directly with the bigger retailers, instead they offer a completely different experience for their customers.  The site is easy to navigate with user friendly sections giving information based product descriptions.  The use of their blog is encouraged and a community spirit is fostered among their customers.  They invite customers to suggest great products that they have discovered, that can then be stocked for other parents.  It's a common sense approach to ensure the best customer satisfaction!

As part of their customer service, Babe-Equip want to provide reviews written by real parents to help others make up their minds about the products on sale.  I am honoured to be a part of the team, and will be doing a series of reviews on the toddler range.  Check out Louise from Bloggomy who has been reviewing the baby products for Babe-Equip on her blog.  Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing some fabulous eco-friendly toys, some organic toiletries and some brilliant innovative toddler products.  I'll be posting my blogs directly on Babe-Equip's Facebook Wall, so be sure to pop over and 'like' them to keep up to date.

Babe-Equip stock everything from travel systems to stair gates to toys to car seats to nappies to nursery equipment.  They offer free delivery on orders over £49.99 and orders made before 2pm are dispatched the same day if in stock.  They offer a money back guarantee so you can buy in confidence.
