The January weather is wet and miserable.  The sky is grey and the rain is unrelenting.  Not a great way to start the new year.  As I sit and look out of my window at another dull day, my mind is wandering back to last summer.  The unexpectedly gorgeous weather was the perfect setting for spending many a glorious day basking in the sunshine.  In August we took the family to Disneyland Paris.  The weather was positively tropical with the temperature creeping over 30 degrees, which was a huge bonus.  My kids adore Disney so spending five days onsite with a premium dining plan was the perfect vacation.  The Disney magic was sprinkled over our holiday in abundance as we watched parades, enjoyed rides, met characters and spent quality time together as a family.  For us, this is the perfect ingredients for the ideal holiday. The smiles on the children's faces were simply priceless and the laughter, fun and memories we shared will last a lifetime.  I wish I was back there now!

Win A Family Holiday With Al Fresco Holidays

'My Fantastic Journey' Competition

Al Fresco Holidays is a luxury outdoor holiday provider with parcs all across Europe. They specialise in providing fun, activity filled holidays for families in great locations at 55 parcs across France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Croatia and Austria.

We were lucky enough to experience Al Fresco Holidays for ourselves last year when we stayed in their Cote de Nacre parc.  It was fabulous.

If you would like the chance to win a holiday to an Al Fresco parc of your choice, there is currently a great competition for budding young story writers aged 6-12 years old. 

Al Fresco Holidays has teamed up with children's book author, Jeremy Strong, to launch this fantastic competition for children to express their writing skills. Reading and writing is key to children's development, so a competition like this is a fun and interesting way to encourage children to use these skills. A perfect activity for this half term perhaps?!

This year the theme of the competition is 'My Fantastic Journey' and asks children to use their imagination to write a story about a fantastic journey to be in with the chance of winning this fantastic family holiday. Every day a random entry will be uploaded to the kidz blog on the Al Fresco Holidays website. The top five will be judged for the chance to win a holiday to an Al Fresco parc of their choice and all will receive runners up prizes.

The competition is open  until the 31st of March and is open to children aged six to twelve. Entries must have a word limit of up to 500 words.
