The Dating Game

I consider myself to be incredibly fortunate to be married to a wonderful man who I am still very much in love with, even after 15 years of marriage and five kids!  But it hasn't always been like that.  Before getting together with my husband I had some seriously bad relationships!

Me and Ian
For instance there was the punk with the green mohican who cheated on me with my best friend.  There was the Italian whose family refused to acknowledge me because I wasn't Catholic.  Or how about the Porsche driving salesman who loved himself way more than he loved me.  Then there was the short fused football fan who nearly threw me out when England lost a penalty shoot out in the World Cup.  Or the blind date who totally confirmed the stereotype of accountants being boring despite trying to tell me he was actually a party animal!  Looking back I really do wonder what I was thinking when I got together with some of the men I ended up with.     But I don't regret a single one as they have all helped me become the person I am today.  Plus they REALLY make me appreciate Ian!

The dating game can be quite a minefield. It doesn't always turn out only have to look at Romeo and Juliet or anyone who gets together on Eastenders to see that.  But, the benefits of finding your perfect partner really do outweigh the negatives.  Someone to share your life with, really is an amazing feeling.  Having them on speed dial just so you can phone them to hear their voice.  Leaving little notes in their jacket pocket for them to find later.  Or just knowing that you have someone to snuggle up with to watch Celebrity Big Brother on a cold January evening!

I have always believed there is someone out there for everyone, you just have to find them.  With the power of the internet, there are more opportunities than ever for single people to find their perfect partners whatever their age or situation.  Online Dating Sites are now accepted as a great way to meet new people, get out there and share interests.  Wherever you are in the country, Bristol, Bath, Barnet or Birmingham dating has never been easier.  As long as you are aware of the obvious pitfalls such as stranger danger and exercise caution, you could open the door to new adventures and new people!

  1. We've all done things we regret and gone out with guys who we later realise were
no hopers - I so agree with your comments and you and Ian are such a delightful and loving couple. I honestly think dating agencies are just the thing for somebody who perhaps is shy and nervous about meeting people in the conventional way. If I was young and in that position I wouldn't hesitate about approaching an online dating agency.

  2. It's so hard to find someone in reality... thanks god we online dating
